This year marks the 12th year of the Awards. Held over the weekend at the The Crown Palladium Melbourne the awards showcase the innovative use of clay bricks, concrete and roof tiles in Australian architecture.
Yanchep Secondary College was entered for the Hunt Commercial Award by Brickmaker, highlighting the work of Artist Rick Vermey.
Rick’s patterned brick walls compliments the college’s curriculum of marine science and the natural environment, with his work comprising over 4000 custom profiled saddleback bricks laid in a dune ripple pattern reflecting a sense of place unique to the College’s coastal location.
While not winning the Hunt Commercial Award, With_Architecture’s Tim Sim was on hand to lead his table to an inspired win in the Lego Competition.
