Public Design Forum

Our Creative Director and current West Australian Government Architect, Geoff Warn, mediated a public design forum on Medium Density Housing which was part of the research workshops conducted this week to help inform a new Policy directed to improving mid-scale housing developments.⁣

Hosted in the State Library Theatre last Thursday, Geoff and the panellists, Kate Fitzgerald (Wispering Smith) and Jennie Officer (Officer Woods) from WA, with Andy Fergus (Urban Designer City of Melbourne); Grace Mortlock and David Neustein (Other Architects), and Anita Panov and Andrew Scott (panovscott Architects) from Sydney.⁣

It was a full-house of very interested practitioners from across the sector, all keen to hear the speakers, who were all excellent. The content was rich, the reflections insightful, and the audience questions probing.⁣

It was a rare evening of enthusiastic debate; clearly housing is a hot topic of concern and interest, with plenty of The Design WA team and the OGA are working on the policy which is soon to be release for public comment. Join in on this important topic.⁣ ⁣ ⁣
